The Flete Estate

Mothecombe Stables offers a unique and informal setting for small weddings and celebrations, with private access to the beautiful gardens, along with kitchen and toilet facilities. We can accommodate up to 50–60 guests, giving you the flexibility to create a relaxed celebration surrounded by nature.

Your celebration, your way

Imagine a summer celebration with a ceremony-style set-up in the Walled Garden, followed by an outdoor dining experience with friends and family. You could continue the celebrations in the gardens or head down to the beach for an informal after-party.The Stables is particularly suited to couples looking for a more relaxed alternative to a traditional wedding venue, with the freedom to create an informal and personal celebration.

Prices start from £2,000 for 2 or 3 days’ hire, giving you plenty of time to set up, enjoy your celebration and make the most of the surroundings.

Please note Mothecombe Stables does not hold a licence for legal wedding ceremonies. The venue can therefore be used for a symbolic or celebrant-led ceremony, wedding reception or after-party, with the legal ceremony taking place separately at a licensed venue.

Dining & Entertainment

Mothecombe Stables

Mothecombe Stables offers a relaxed and flexible space for dining and entertaining, with two stable rooms that can each accommodate up to 24 guests.

For a more informal celebration, you could make the most of the outdoor space with one long trestle table, creating a beautiful family-style dining experience where everyone can sit together and enjoy the surroundings.

Alternatively, one of the stable rooms could be used for welcome drinks and canapés, providing a relaxed space for guests to gather before moving outside for dinner or continuing the celebrations elsewhere.

The space is yours to style and make your own, whether you’re planning an intimate dinner, relaxed summer celebration or wedding reception.

Suppliers

Local suppliers near us

All additional event equipment will need to be hired separately. This includes tables and chairs, table linen, table decorations, crockery, glassware and anything else you may need for your celebration. This gives you the freedom to choose the style, suppliers and finishing touches that suit you and your day.

When it comes to food, the choice is yours. Whether you’re looking for a fine dining experience with a private chef preparing fresh food in the kitchen, prefer to order and stock your own food, or want something a little more relaxed such as a food van, we’re happy to help.

We can point you in the right direction with local suppliers and share our recommendations and experience to help you create the perfect dining experience for your celebration.

Ceremony

Walled gardens

All guests will need to park in Mothecombe Car Park and walk through the village to access the gardens and Mothecombe Stables.

Please note that parking is £6.50 per car from April to September. If you prefer, this is something you can arrange in advance and cover the parking fee for all of your guests, making it easier for everyone on the day.

The walk through the village is a lovely way for guests to arrive and adds to the relaxed, countryside feel of the setting.
